ALZHEIMERS NEWS-IS THIS ONE BETTER

when i first starting writing about the new monoclonal antibody drugs i called them alzheimers vaccines
well
they really were not alzheimers vaccine
they were monoclonal antibodies against amyloid and amyloid plaque that was given to folks like me as infusions
these antibodies would then grab the amyloid and amyloid plaques and remove them from our brains

now they have developed true alzheimers vaccines 
one in a phase 2 clinical trial stage is called ub 311 by the vaxxinity company
 
being patient wrote a good review of this alzheimers vaccine at this link

this vaxxine is given several times a year in the studies

it basically works like the flu vaxxine or other vaxxines
the body does all the work to make the antibodies against the amyloid instead of like with my drug aduhelm or leqembi or donanemab which are monoclonal antibodies given as an infusion

one problem with the monoclonal antibodies like aduhelm leqembi and donanemab are their side effect of aria or amyloid related imaging abnormalities ie edema or bleeding

there has been no aria with the ub 311 vaxxine

it probably works slower to help with cognitive decline 
the phase 3 studies when they are done should show how well they work

they are safe
they are more convenient to take instead of getting an infusion and all that entails
you just get a shot

the company vaxxinity 
i like that name by the way
needs a new financial partner to continue into phase 3 studies

we await that happening so we can find out if this stuff really works 

i definitely will be keeping an eye on this one
i can see myself getting an alzheimers vaxxine regularly instead of taking infusions
and
not have to worry about a brain bleed

definitely worth watching this one
