WHAT A MESS

these are the logos of some of the major college football programs
most are now really professional college football programs
in some situations the student athlete football player can make more playing college football than if they went to play in the national football league as a professional football player

two of the top college athletes making a lot of money this last year are females a gymnast and a couple of basketball players

one player on my favorite team entertained staying in college since he could make more money playing college football even though he was going to be a high drafted professional player in the nfl
thanks to the rookie contracts the new players have to sign
if he stayed 2 more years in college he would make more than what he got with his rookie nfl contract

i lived in arkansas for a total of  about 30 years and lived in texas for a total of about 30 years
so
i originally was an arkansas razorback fan and still am but i moved on to being a texas longhorn fan
i follow both programs though and watch their games on tv when i can

both are now professional football college programs

originally they were together in the old southwest conference then they went their separate ways
arkansas wen to the sec or southeastern conference the top professional college football league in the us
texas went to the big 12 even though they didnt really have 12 teams for several years
now they are transferring to the top professional college football league the sec

so now the sec has 14 teams i think unless they added more recently
then
the big 10 which doesnt really have 10 teams but have more than that adding one every day it seems

now 
in professional college football there are those two premier leagues
sec and the big not 10
thats where the big money is
for the schools 
for the players

heck those players now need to work hard to stay in school as long as they can since they can make more money than playing in the nfl
plus they might finally get their degrees also

what will be left will be lower tiered conferences
the only one left now is the pac 12 which really has only 4 teams left since the other 8 schools left to go to the big top tiered professional college football leagues ie the big not 10 or
some went to one of the almost top tiered professional football league the big not now 12 which really doesnt have 12 teams but has a daily changing number of teams
apparently the big not 12 league will become a basketball league
wonder if they will add duke and north carolina

it is all about the money 
for the schools
for the players
for the media
who gets left out
the students
those regular students just going there for an education

we need two tiers of schools
the professional college football schools
they make the money to support all the other sports programs and any left over gets put in the kitty to pay for the costs of academia
the unprofessional college football schools
they do it like the old school way
you get a scholarship that pays for your room and board and tuition and fees
you play football for that scholarship and for the honor of the team and you get an education
you know like the ivy league schools do
so old fashioned that idea

so 
i decided i have 3 professional football teams i root for 
the texas longhorns
the arkansas razorbacks
the dallas cowboys
