covid 19-close but so far away

COVID 19-CLOSE BUT SO FAR AWAY

it has been almost two months since i got my first covid 19 shot
its hard to explain the sense of relief i have knowing i am immune to the covid 19 infection

so far 18.5% of the us is fully vaccinated like my wife she and i are
that leaves 81.5% of yall not vaccinated
granted some of you have already gotten your first vaccine which gives you about 50-80% protection

that means well over 200,000,000 of yall are not vaccinated
yet
from looking on social media you are acting like some of you like you are fully vaccinated

in a month or about 4-5 weeks another 100,000,000 of you will be vaccinated

add to those numbers above and those who have been infected but recovered then in 4-6 weeks months we will be much closer to where we want to be

if you want to know what the experts are worrying about just keep an eye on what is happening in europe especially germany
that is where we may be in 4-6 weeks unless we in the us act like there is a pandemic going on 

my guess is that yall wont do what needs to be done

every death that occurs from covid 19 in the next 4-6 weeks is somebodys fault
commonly a friend or family member or close contact
ie
someone is responsible for that covid 19 death

dont be that person that kills someone you know

in california they have just discovered a new variant called a double variant
its even more contagious and deadly than the wild type or the other variants
it seems to go after young folks the most

luckily it probably will be respond to the vaccine

sadly 81.5% of you arent fully vaccinated
and 
most of yall are vulnerable

i am afraid history will not look favorable at some of yall and some of our politicians as to how they responded not to help save lives
my guess history will put a number on how many died unnecessarily 
probably well over 300,000 americans have died so far from covid 19 and didnt need to

think about that when you go to your loved ones funeral who died from covid 19 this next 4-6 weeks

it sad to be so close but so far away

here is what i do
remember i am fully vaccinated now so i dont have to worry about getting the infection
i am unlikely to transmit the virus to vulnerable folks like mr hudson now

i always wear my mask outside our condo
why
i am protecting you who are not vaccinated especially those of you who are not believers in doing what needs to be done in the next few weeks

i wash my hands or use hand sanitizer coming and going from the condo
ill probably do that forever anyway

i keep a safe distance from others at least 6-10 feet as much as possible

i wear a mask double mask to high risk situations

i avoid large gatherings

i do not plan on traveling

remember i am protecting you not me

since i am vaccinated
i can safely gather with others who are vaccinated
if i am around others they have to be masked or i avoid them

i would have no qualms now about traveling on a trip somewhere
hopefully the airlines will come up with covid 19 vaccinated only flights once the vaccines get fully authorized by the fda
ill look for those when they happen

if you are not vaccinated and dont do these safe things to protect yourself and others
then
you will be responsible for those deaths and illness and the spread of the virus thats having an uptick across the us

we are so close
yet
we are so far away
