MY COVID 19 BIRTHDAY PRESENT
a few days into my bout with the covid 19 i had my birthday this year
it was one of those birthdays that marks a decade like 40 or 50
well
this one this year is sort of a big ole blur
i think my wife gave me a handmade card either that or i dreamed she did during one of my episodes of fever and chills that day
i think that day i mainly laid in bed all day not moving a whole lot
she may have given me a present but again i dont really remember if she did or not
no it was not my memory loss issue flaring up it was the sickness i had been infested with
the covid 19
my wife shes birthday was a few days later
i do remember some things by then
in fact i made her a handmade birthday card shown in the picture above
i was in isolation in our bedroom so i didnt pass anything out of the room until after my 2 week isolation period was over
so
i sent it via my iphone since i didnt want to send any germs her way
i told her we could celebrate our birthdays when we got well
so
this week
i made my trip to traders joes for groceries
an aside
i must say i felt quite safe while i was in the store
much safer than when i went to the pharmacy
i decided
ok i would find something for our birthday that we could share together
as i walked down my third aisle
there it was
jumping out at me
that 12 roll of toilet paper well they call it bath tissue
why i dont know
i added it to my cart
when i got home i told my wife she
i bought us our birthday present at trader joes
its being quarantined for 3 days in the garage
when she saw it she was more excited for a birthday present than ever over our years of being together
a birthday present we could share for sure
we were down to 1 and 1/2 rolls
one of those i think really use to be sold as fine one ply sandpaper
it worked though
so we now have a several weeks supply of toilet paper
no i dont plan to hoard it
so our birthdays this year we will remember for sure
and
we definitely will remember what we got for our birthdays this year
