its like quicksand

ITS LIKE QUICKSAND

when i was growing up in southern arkansas we lived near rivers and creeks that could have near them when things got swampy and wet
the dreaded
quicksand

we heard stories of folks being found stuck in quicksand not being to get out
it just sucks you deeper into the muck the more you struggle

many a deer has been found dead and buried deep in that stuff

have you ever had a boot on and stepped into the deep mud and the mud sort of seems to grasp your boot and sucks it off your foot
thats what quicksand does
it will grab you and hold onto you like the devil reaching up from under the ground grabbing you and pulling you down under

actually quicksand will grab you and the more you struggle the more it sucks you down
the damage being done is getting into it making that first step into the muck
once you do make the step you are there maybe forever
then
the more you struggle the worse it gets

the way to get out of quicksand is slow deliberate backwards movements to work your way out of the muck

it seems that our political readers should read up on the science of quicksand
since
thats what being in the middle east is like
its like stepping into quicksand
the more you do the worse it gets until it sucks you down and you get stuck there

why are we really into this middle east quicksand anyway
its been now three presidency long in time we have been fighting there

we went into that swamp with george bush
an all out push
its when we really got embedded deep in the quagmire

obama tried to get us out but like with quicksand its not easy to do

i thought maybe trump was going to be the one that would slowly turn around and back out of the middle east quicksand
but
not it looks like we just jumped back into the quagmire quicksand with both feet

im afraid we are going to be stuck there forever like the deer or bear hunters find dead
all stuck in the muck

why are we there in the first place
the only reason i can think is
it has to be the oil

is it worth the price
our sons and daughters and grand kids and nephews and nieces being killed and maimed
for what reason
for oil

there should be a rule that a president shouldnt fight in a war that he would not be willing to send his daughter or son to fight in

in my lifetime we have been in the korean war the vietnam war the afghanistan war the iraq war
if you notice we didnt win any of them
now
we may now have the iranian war or ww3

just like the others in my lifetime we wont win this one either
no one will
