a fellow arkansan
a wps fan for those not in the know thats woo pig sooie
a father
a husband
an ex marine
a coach
a devout muslim
a policeman a wearer of the blue
by all accounts from the chief and fellow officers
he was a good one
now i didnt really know him as a policeman
i dont recall ever seeing him in his uniform
actually i thought he was an undercover policemen
i spent a lot of time talking with him over several years
as i saw his family in my office
we didnt like i didnt with most patients
talk about religion or politics
but
we talked about sports a lot
something we both had an interest in
a lot we talked about football and about the razorbacks specifically
he was as was his family
one of my favorite families that i saw while i was working
it was enjoyable to be in the room with all of them
bantering like i use to like to do with the kids
i do regret i didnt get to say goodbye to his family when i left
practice
i thought about them frequently almost on a weekly basis
so it was with a sad heart
i saw the news report about his getting hit while
policing a funeral procession on his police motorcycle
i instantly thought of his wife and children
how devastated they must be
i was encouraged he seemed to be getting better
but knowing how severe trauma patients can worsen
from their injuries
i was saddened to read yesterday of his death
i spent several hours with him and his family
over the years
so i got to know them fairly well
he will be missed
by them
by us
by his fellow policemen
by his congregation
a big lost for us all
we need more people in this world like him
we need more policemen like him
may he rip
my condolences go out to his wife and their five kids
if you can
here is
the link to donate to a fund
for the family
its going to be hard to raise those 5 kids
without a father
thank goodness for family and friends that can help her
i will always remember
his smile
his wit
