here at the country n there are 2 tools to have
that have multiple uses
now i have one of these tools that has everything on it
i keep it on my tool belt when i work at the
williamson county habitat for humanity
however
its not on the top two list
the other day i was watching the central texas gardener
on klru
they said hes going to talk about the one tool to have
in your garden
i thought if thats that good im gonna go buy one today
well
it was this thang here
yes its the 5 gallon bucket
here its used to cover up the plant when the weather gets cold
other uses
-i drill holes on the bottom and on the sides set it by my plant
or bury in by the plant then fill it with water to water the plant
worked great this year for my tomatoes even in the hot summer sun
-hauling much or hauling compost
-a trash container in my garden
-to haul water to plants that need to be watered
sometimes i add the liquid johns recipe to fertilize the plants down deep
-one is used to hold all my tools to carry around where they are needed
-works great to plant a tomato or pepper in so its easily moved around
-i flip one over and sit on it when im working in my garden
-yes ive used one as a step stool before
be careful with this one though
-i use it as miniature wheelbarrow
-i recently used it to haul stuff on the roof to work on some cover sets
for my ac units lines
-its used to haul feed and chicken scraps to the chickens
-its used to collect produce in especially when we harvest
peaches plums and potatoes and tomatoes
-i use them to catch water off my ac units which i then pour on
the surrounding plants
-ive used them several times as a scooper or shovel to pick up
rocks gravel or dirt
-etc etc etc
so this 5 gallon is the number one tool to have for your garden
then the number two tool to have is
yes you guessed it
the roll of duct tape
a must have tool
ive written about duct tape a lot
even have a duct tape book a patient gave me
ive used that tape so much
recently i lent my large wheelbarrow to habitat for humanity
it was used to haul rocks
when i got it back it looked like this
now ive had this wheelbarrow a long long time
its held together with a different variety of bolts that dont match
baling wire
so i dont want to part with it
so of course my solution to repair it was to do this
long live my blue wheelbarrow
duct tape saves the day
so when you are shopping for garden tools
be sure and make sure you have these two necessary tools
the 5 gallon bucket
a roll of duct tape
