NAUGHTY AND NICE LIST
no i havent been in communication with santa claus
this year
its not about those of you who will get bad gifts
for not being good
besides you know if you havent been good
right

this is the naughty and nice list
of the top 10 online stores who have
bad web security

oops is what i said when i looked at the list

the list is generated by looking at
password requirements
the personal information they store
how much effort is made to ensure folks use
good security practices

here are the naughty ones
sears
amazon
walmart
kohls
jc penney

oops again i used two of these

here are the nice ones
target
best buy
apple store
ebay
macys

i used one of these
guess target learned its lesson huh

why are the naughty ones naughty

weak password requirements-the best is to use 12 characters

they ask for too much information-the more you give them the
more the bad folks can gain access to that information
ala home depot target michaels etc

credit card numbers are stored-easily accessible for those bad
guys to steal them from the naughty guys
eg amazon and paypal do this


what to do
look for that little locked lock symbol that https url

create a new password for each account using symbols and
characters    
12 total is best

answer security questions wrong

give as little information as possible
use guest accounts whenever possible
dont let them store your credit card information

if you go to the article i read and read it
you can see that
sears and amazon across the board has real poor security

so be nice this christmas and dont be naughty
or
you may really have to pay for it with
your identity being stolen

so i was naughty twice and nice once
